Big Trees São Luís Island
Overview
This project aims to identify and characterize the 10 largest trees on the island of São Luís, to promote greater protection for the city's environmental heritage and bring knowledge to the population about these great beings that are fundamental to our lives and many other species.
Our Effort
To achieve this goal, we are surveying the tallest and most robust trees in the city, to determine which are the 10 largest. In addition, we are collecting information about the species, age, location, and conservation status of each selected tree.
Results
At the end of the project, we will present a complete report with the information collected about the 10 largest trees on the island of São Luís. We hope that this work can make the population aware of the importance of protecting the city's environmental heritage and encourage actions for the preservation and conservation of these great living beings.
